Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 decimates its way to the top spot in this weeks best 4K UHD seller charts.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, produced under the Disney-owned Marvel Studios banner, effortlessly clinched the top spot on this week’s 4K UHD/Blu-Ray best-selling chart at the week’s end of August 5th.

During its inaugural week, high-definition formats took the lead, constituting 68% of the Guardians’ sales, regular Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD discs contributed equally, comprising 34% of the initial week’s sales. This formidable performance propelled the movie to the numero uno spot on the dedicated 4K disc sales chart.

After a four-week reign, Universal Pictures’ The Super Mario Bros. Movie slipped to the second position overall. In its eighth week on shelves, it managed to sell a mere 12.15% of the copies that Guardians sold in its debut week. The Super Mario Bros. Movie ranked third on the Blu-ray chart and fifth on the 4K chart.

Securing the third position overall was Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4, also in its eighth week (although it and the Super Mario Bros. Movie were made available at select stores a week earlier). It trailed closely behind the second-place contender, amassing 11.43% of the leader’s sales tally. John Wick: Chapter 4 took the second spot on the Blu-ray chart and the third on the 4K chart.

Landing at the fourth position overall and as the top Blu-ray seller was Avatar: The Way of Water from Disney-owned 20th Century Studios. It garnered 10.56% of the top seller’s sales figures in its seventh week.
