In our box office forecast, we set out sights on John Wick: Chapter 4 and boy, does the outcome look like another franchise best. Stahelski‘s John Wick franchise has been one of the best surprises in the modern film industry and the results reflect the quality of the franchise. Apparently, if you continue to make good high-quality films in a franchise then they’ll make more money each outing (Who knew, right?!) – MCU, I am looking at you!
The first John Wick opened to a minimal $14.4 million back in 2014, John Wick: Chapter 2 more than doubled this with $30.4 million and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum almost did it again as it opened to $56.8. These results are absolutely amazing from a box office perspective because you are seeing high-quality films from passionate and dedicated creatives being rewarded with high box office results and loyal fan bases. This is even more impressive considering the R-rating barrier that stands in John Wick’s way.
Now don’t expect the box office opening weekend for John Wick: Chapter 4 to double John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum as it reaches the cap of the market. The good news, however, is that Chapter 4 is poised to have a franchise-best opening weekend at the box office.
Please see our box office forecast as per below; we predict the opening weekend as well as the domestic and worldwide total box office:
Domestic Box Office:
Opening Weekend: $67 million
Total: $180 million
Worldwide Box Office:
Total: $465 million
