Weekend Box Office Forecast: Four Way Race to the #1 Position

Weekend Box Office Forecast: No Hard Feelings

In this weekend’s box-office forecast, we are going to take a look at how “No Hard Feelings” will fare at the domestic box office for the upcoming weekend as “The Flash” and “Elemental Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” continue their runs. With four potential nominees vying for the weekend’s top spot, there is a lot to cover as we approach this weekend.

No Hard Feelings

Weekend Box Office Forecast: No Hard Feelings

R-rated RomComs have surely felt like a thing of the past for a while now, but at last, we have one coming to cinemas this weekend. Even when they do come, it is very rare to find high-profile actors attached to the project. With Jennifer Lawrence at the helm, it will certainly help draw an additional audience to the movie, similar to 2022’s “The Lost City” with Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock.

With a current rating of 64% on Rotten Tomatoes, “No Hard Feelings” can’t rely on critical success alone to obtain staying power. However, it holds potential with a current audience score of 93% (albeit, based on less than 50 verified ratings). General moviegoing audiences tend to favor comedies more than critics, and with the current tentpoles in cinemas, this film provides solid counterprogramming. Perhaps it can have a breakout performance.

The Flash

Coming off a very disappointing opening weekend, “The Flash” will be looking to find some legs as it continues its run. However, with a B CinemaScore and widespread criticism, it looks like it is going to experience a sharp decline, and the week’s day-to-day box-office totals have continued to drop. It can hope to buffer this decline as much as possible with another week of premium screens.

Elemental

Speaking of the week’s day-to-day box office, “Elemental” has held up nicely, and it isn’t surprising with an A CinemaScore. Depending on how small it can drop, it has a real shot at reaching number one for the weekend.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Box Office Prediction: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

The film has experienced drops that have felt far too sharp for a movie with such widespread acclaim from critics and casual audience moviegoers, as well as trending social media variables. With its first weekend without newcomers targeting the same demographic, it should aim to stabilize and continue its successful run towards the $400M milestone.
