The Super Mario Bros. Movie

For the third weekend in a row, The Super Mario Bros. Movie dominates at the box office once again. Bringing in a whopping $58.2 million it now is the 7th highest third weekend at the domestic market. It now has also earned the title of being the #1 third weekend film for an animated movie. Internationally it saw a 38% drop with $70.7 million and a global total of $871.8 million, only the 28th biggest movie of all time. Its safe to say that The Super Mario Bros. The film’s opening weekend box office was almost identical to two other recent releases – 2022’s The Black Phone ($23.6 million), and February’s Cocaine Bearm($23.2 million). Despite its solid opening, Evil Dead Rise fell 9% short of its predecessor in the franchise with 2013’s Evil Dead earning $25.7 million during its opening weekend. Internationally, Evil Dead Rise debuted with $16.8 million, bringing its global opening to $40.3 million.
